We are looking for an extremely organized Finance Associate who will play a pivotal role in supporting the growth of the business. Working directly for the Head of Finance & supported by our external advisors, you'll have a varied role, working across all areas of finance and taxation.

Responsibilities
  • Working with our external tax accountants, take responsibility for the preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements for our German parent company
  • Assist with financial processes for our subsidiary entities (currently USA and UK)
  • Support the Head of Finance with our internal and external reporting
  • Play a key role in our financial planning and forecasting processes
  • Track actual spend against budget and analyze & investigate discrepancies
  • Manage Invoicing and Accounts Receivable
  • Support the continuous improvement of our Finance & Accounting processes and policies
  • Act as the day to day contact for our external tax advisor
  • Work closely with key internal stakeholders

REQUIREMENTS

  • You have 3+ years of relevant professional experience in a start-up, in-house, or external accounting firm
  • You have extensive knowledge in German HGB
  • You have ideally worked with DATEV, familiarity with other ERP software (Netsuite, Xero, Quickbooks, etc) is a plus
  • You have good verbal and written communication skills in German and English
  • You have strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and you enjoy working with data
  • Ownership mentality, financial savviness, creativity, and drive to get things done
  • You are a self-starter with a track record of independently leading new initiatives
  • You bring a passion for working and learning in a fast-growing, mission-focused business
  • Knowledge of international accounting standards, e.g. IFRS and US GAAP is a plus
